Comic Relief Features Betty
Betty is an ex-midwife currently residing at the
Lakeview Lodge care home, having recently been
connected to a local primary school for an IMM project.
This is what she shared about the sessions:
“I feel lucky to be a resident at Lakeview during this
time. The lady who leads the session is so energetic
and vibrant. The songs and beats became familiar
once you heard the music. You just forget where
you are and get involved with it.”
This intergenerational project was funded by Comic Relief, who believe in the impact of intergenerational sessions for people like Betty. To help us carry on this work, we kindly ask for your support in the form of a donation.
Even £5 can help us put resources together, connect more care homes with schools, deliver music therapy sessions or even deliver training to care home staff, teachers or activity coordinators, providing them with the confidence and skills to deliver their own sessions.
Since the project ended...
Since the huge success of this Comic Relief project, both residents from Lakeview Lodge and the primary school have enjoyed a new project run by us called Sing and Grow.
This project uses music combined with gardening to foster these connections further, promote skills exchange and allows for a fun and creative space for everyone involved to get together and continue sharing their stories and bonding.
